Susan, wow…25 years! Congratulations on this significant milestone. I have been so honored to work with you and the Steinbrecher team for the past eight years. One characteristic I have noticed about your work ethic is that good enough is not good enough. You aim to get it right, the way your clients envision it. Then you find the specific resources to bring their training solutions to life. You don’t stop until the product is right and you are willing to take the appropriate risks to make it work. Your vision and a willing heart have impacted countless lives. I’ve heard it said that you can count the apples on a tree but you can’t count the apples in a seed. 25 years is a lot of planting. Keep going and I can only imagine what the future holds.

Knowing Susan for 30 years has taught me several life lessons. Here’s where I’m better because of Susan’s influence:
1. Taking accountability is so liberating! Don’t whine or make excuses. Step up. Own it, fix it, move on.
2. Stress and tension are created by holding on. Let it go.
3. It’s a choice: how we interpret an event; how we react; how long we hold onto it.
That said, I’ll always be that “work in progress.” What I’m still wrestling with is Susan’s advice to come from a place of acceptance rather than judgment as it relates to others. Most people do the best they know how. What we find annoying makes sense to someone else because of his or her life experience. — Kathy Wade-Yacoubian

WOW 25 years!!! Quite an accomplishment! Congratulations! It has been an honor and a pleasure to work with Steinbrecher & Associates. I feel blessed in that the high caliber of professionalism, high standards and values are in sync with how I wish to live my work and personal lives. Mohandas Ghandi said, “Happiness is when what you think, what you do, and what you say are in harmony.” I have been living in that harmony the last eight years and have also lived in the joy of knowing that what I have done in working with Steinbrecher And Associates has made a measurable difference in the lives of others. For the last eight years, I have had the privilege to work with Susan Steinbrecher, and a team of the most accomplished and professional facilitators I have ever had the opportunity to collaborate with. Susan has provided steady, caring, and inspiring leadership throughout every step of our journey, as we have worked with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. Her support of our team has been unwavering, both on a professional and personal level, and I want to express my most sincere gratitude and congratulations.
The work we have done together has been the most rewarding of my career. What could be more important than helping the men and women at BNSF work safe, in their unforgiving environment, so they can all go home to their families at the end of the day? These dedicated people do noble and important work that truly impacts every family in our country, and I am so proud to work with them. Nothing tugs at my heart more than when they offer us one of their division coins to say thank you, letting us know that they value our help, and consider us part of their family. It is such an honor. Susan, Robert, and Lorinda, congratulations on your many accomplishments, thank you for your kindness and support, and continued success in the future. — Pat Burke

I began working with Susan five years ago through a mutual friend — thanks to the genius of LinkedIn. At my initial training event with Susan and her team, I was blown away by the caliber of talent on her team. I had done years of corporate training but I stood with her team and listened to major powerhouse coaches who had traveled the world and worked with the largest companies around the globe. And, on top of that, this team had done incredible work in Executive Coaching with the top leaders of major Fortune 500 Companies. And, all of them owned their own personal powerful companies plus had incredibly rich personal lives to boot!
When I entered the team, everyone, and I mean everyone, said to me, “You will love Susan Steinbrecher. She is an incredible leader.” And they went on to say, “You will never want to leave this team!” And so began my deep admiration for Susan and her team. Working with Susan is a dream – no one feels they are working for her as much as we feel we are working with her! In the last two years, I’ve been able to work much closer with her and I am in awe of how, in every situation, her first response is “what is the right thing to do?” …. “what’s the right thing to do for the client, what is the right thing for the team, etc.” And, many times, it may not be the best thing for her personally, or as a company, but she does the RIGHT thing for her clients, her team, her staff, whoever it is. She is truly a heart-centered leader! She has made me a better leader by pushing me to grow in areas that are difficult for me and she’s made the growth fun for me. Which is saying a lot, because face it, who likes to be uncomfortable?
I admire Susan’s leadership approach. She gets it — she just gets it. She knows how to lead. She knows how to grow a company. She knows how to make everyone feel special and then, of course, we all want to deliver over the top for her and her company. There’s just no one better. And, as my colleagues told me, I never want to leave her team. She is the kind of person that you hope you will always be associated with somehow, some way.
So, congratulations Susan Steinbrecher, Steinbrecher and Associates for 25 years of Heart Centered Leadership, for enhancing and changing thousands of lives, for helping so many, for being so charitable, for making the world a better place to be. You inspire greatness. It is an honor to be a part of this team and I am proud to say that I am. I am proud to call Susan my friend. Congratulations and here’s to the next 25 years! — Lynda Ross

It has been such a pleasure to work with Steinbrecher and Associates. I am honored to be a contractor. I have only been involved with the ESLT program, but I am so impressed with the work that is done with BNSF. It is a learning model that every company should have and use. It is evident that the skills are being transferred to their work and I believe the railroaders are using these skills at home with their families.
Thank you, Susan, for having the vision to help individuals learn how to improve their lives. I love all the members on the ESLT team. They have become dear friends as well as colleagues. My life is richer because of my association with everyone that I work with at Steinbrecher.

The company I worked for, CVS Caremark, allowed me the opportunity to be coached by Steinbrecher & Associates ten years ago. The entire experience was very powerful, but it was the mental models exercise that led to my “aha” moment…with my coach I identified a way to modify my approach to leading change that would enable me to make my teams more comfortable with change themselves. In addition to helping me become a better leader in general, the work opened the door for me leading a major change management initiative accompanying a restructuring of the core work in our production facilities. That change management initiative allowed us to implement the restructuring across five facilities with over 2000 employees while maintaining our productivity and quality metrics. The work with my coach enabled me to bring a higher level of understanding and empathy to the impacted employees wherever they were on the change acceptance curve and provide tools to their managers to assist them through the changes.
When I decided to take early retirement from the company, it was with the intent of working with individuals to help them make their own discoveries through coaching. I went straight to Steinbrecher & Associates for my training to become a coach – my own experience and that of other colleagues who also were coached through Steinbrecher & Associates made it the team I really wanted to be a part of. Experiencing training with Susan and her senior team was a wonderful and enriching experience, every bit as enlightening as my own coaching had been. Using the methods and skills I learned to help clients reach their own “aha” moments has been incredibly rewarding. — Ann Gillespie

To Susan and the Steinbrecher Team! I was at the RIGHT place at the RIGHT time a year and a half ago when I met a special person that introduced me to all of you. I was welcomed with open arms to join the BNSF Railway Team. I remember looking around at the first T3 in Dallas thinking “How did I get so blessed to be in this room with all these gifted facilitators?” Susan, love and appreciation is an understatement. You support us, are concerned about us when we are out on the track and I KNOW you think about us every moment of every day when we are delivering BNSF ESLT classes. Hugs and much love. Cheers on 25 years! — Bobbi P.
